Young Farmers & Ranchers

Stanislaus County Young Farmers and Ranchers Committee is made up of a group of active young members ages ranging from 18-35. This committee plans socials, meetings with guest speakers, ag tours and events throughout the year for other young agriculturalists to come to, network and learn about different segments of the ag industry in Stanislaus County. There is an officer team elected yearly to help facilitate these events and socials and to send out regular emails to members. Contact Abi Fair, [email protected].

Compliance & Safety Training 

Stanislaus County Farm Bureau offers monthly training to help support our members. Farm Bureau members have access to these trainings for free or reduced pricing. We cover topics like heat illness prevention, food safety, equipment safety and HR 101. In addition to our in-person training, we offer pesticide continuing education webinars. Scholarship Opportunities

Stanislaus County Farm Bureau offers scholarships to MJC students transferring to four year universities or trade schools. Stanislaus County Farm Bureau offers two scholarship categories, the Stanislaus County Farm Bureau Scholarship and the John C. De Boer Scholarship.

Regional Meetings

Each of the 5 regions in Stanislaus County host a Regional Meeting each year to nominate their board of directors for a two year term. The Northeast, Eastside, Westside and Southern Regions have their Regional Meetings in February and Early March each year, with the Northwest Region hosting their Annual Dinner each November.

Annual Meeting of Members

The Annual Meeting of Members takes place each year on the 3rd Thursday of April. The event includes a Business Meeting to accept the Nominating Report, Directors from each Regional Meeting, and every two years, an officer team. Annual Meeting always has a great speaker or entertainer, a fantastic meal, tradeshow and a silent auction that benefits our Educational Programs.

Ag EdVenture Day

Ag EdVenture Day is the second Friday of October and takes place at the Stanislaus County Fairgrounds. The event brings in roughly 1,200 students to experience agriculture first hand by hearing presentations about many of the products we grow and produce here in the central valley, seeing equipment up close and getting to pet animals. Spray Safe

Spray Safe is a great event that SCFB helps to coordinate each year with the help of partners in the community. This day provides growers with the chance to earn Continuing Education Hours towards their Pesticide Applicators Permits and the ability to being their employees to received critical and mandatory training. The event is put on at no charge thanks to industry contributions. At Spray Safe, there is the opportunity for sponsors to participate in a tradeshow and for growers to interact with you. School Tours of the Fair

Stanislaus County Farm Bureau and Stanislaus County Fair partner each year to offer School Tours of the Fair. The two hour tour is offered during three days of the fair at 7 different times each morning. The admission to the fair during the tour is free and brings the students to 4-5 stops including fair attractions and agricultural learning opportunities.

Farm Bureau Family Night Out with the Modesto Nuts

Stanislaus County Farm Bureau partners with the Modesto Nuts to bring you Farm Bureau Family Night Out. The night will include a BBQ in the Tioga Sequioa Pavilion starting prior to the game, a baseball game and homemade ice cream and peaches. For many years, Stanislaus County Farm Bureau hosted a family picnic called Peaches and Cream. We are so excited to be hosting a fun summer BBQ event and to be serving fresh peaches and the best ice cream in conjunction with our Night Out at the Park. While this night will be about enjoying a night of baseball with our favorite Farm Families, it will also give Farm Bureau and sponsors an opportunity to be in front of many other people attending this great game. The event will feature Farm Bureau and sponsors on the video score board prior to the event, logos throughout the game, opportunities to set up sponsor tables and ag related activities in the concourse, a great family BBQ, fresh peaches with homemade ice cream, a baseball game and fireworks. This fundraiser will support our Ag Education event and scholarships for future agriculturalists.

Adopt a Family

Stanislaus County Farm Bureau Board Members and Staff work with Social Services in the county to “adopt” families around the holidays to ensure they have a wonderful Christmas in the midst of a hard time. We receive their wishlists that include things the family needs and Board Members, Staff and YF&R work to ensure their needs are met during the holiday season.
