Ryan Valk
Stanislaus County Farm Bureau Board Member

Meet The Board: RYAN VALK, Farm Bureau Board Member – Northeast Director
“To me, that’s why Farm Bureau matters. It gives us a place to voice our concerns.” By supporting Farm Bureau and continuing to advocate for agriculture, Ryan hopes families like his will be able to continue doing what they love for generations to come.
For Ryan Valk, agriculture is more than a career — it’s a family tradition more than a century in the making.
A sixth-generation farmer, Ryan’s family has been farming in Stanislaus County for more than 100 years. Today, he raises poultry and farms almonds on the same ranch where generations before him built their livelihoods. Looking ahead, Ryan hopes his children will have the opportunity to continue that tradition.
But preserving that opportunity is one of the reasons Ryan believes organizations like Farm Bureau are so important.
One of the biggest challenges facing agriculture today, he says, is the growing regulatory burden placed on farmers and ranchers. Beyond the sheer number of regulations, Ryan is concerned about requirements that can become increasingly diÌィcult for agricultural operations to navigate.
“To me, that’s why Farm Bureau matters,” Ryan said. “It gives us a place to voice our concerns.”
Through advocacy, Farm Bureau works to make sure the voices of farmers and ranchers are heard as legislation and regulations affecting agriculture are considered. For Ryan, membership is an important part of supporting those efforts.
He encourages others in agriculture to become members not only to have their own voices heard, but to help strengthen the collective voice of the industry.
